Audit, performance overhaul and backend migration of an Arabic Flutter marketplace app

Flutter Arabic RTL marketplace app with separate customer and store-owner experiences: product browsing, QR scanning, advertisers on a map, chat and notifications. I inherited the existing codebase, wrote a technical audit covering 32 issues, then fixed and modernized the app through December 2025, finishing with a migration to the client's new backend API.

Highlights

  1. 01Technical audit of 32 issues (8 critical, 12 high) across crashes, broken features, performance and code quality.
  2. 02Moved the advertisers map from Google Maps to Mapbox with offline map support.
  3. 03Splash-time data preloading with a 6-hour cache and background-isolate JSON parsing.
  4. 04Firebase push notifications, a redesigned chat UI, and restored connectivity monitoring with better error handling.
  5. 05Migrated to a new backend API after testing and cataloguing every endpoint as working, missing, broken or moved.
  6. 06Real-time chat: Firebase Realtime Database listeners replaced polling for unread badges and the chat list, with a live typing indicator; runZonedGuarded error logging so async errors no longer crash the app.
